Cuscus cu omleta si sos de usturoi / Omelet couscous with garlic dip

Pentru mine prima experienta de a manca cuscus a fost recent. Eram tare curioasa cum se prepara si ce gust are si mai ales cum poate fi folosit in felurile de mancare. Am preparat o reteta mai clasica de cuscus cu legume gratinate si mi-a placut gustul. Este o mancare foarte satioasa si dupa mine, cred ca merge foarte bine servita cu legume, si sosuri. De aceea am incercat azi sa adaptez o reteta de a prepara cuscus dupa o reteta originala iraeliana.


Avem nevoie de:

  • 50 gr cuscus
  • 3 linguri smantana
  • 4 catei usturoi
  • Un ou sau doua
  • Sare si piper
  • Si putin patrunjel

Pregatim oul in putin ulei, il facem omleta. Eu am folosit doar un ou cu fulgul pe el, direct din cuibarul parintilor mei.


Intre timp punem peste cuscus aproximativ 140 ml de apa fierbinte si acoperim bolul. In 5-8 minute se va inmuia si poate…

Easter is right around the corner which means hard boiled eggs are on the menu. If you are one of the many people wondering what an egg has to do with easter the story has it that the Egg symbolizes the empty tomb of Jesus in that the outside of the shell looks empty but the inside is full of fertility and a sign of rebirth that he will rise from his Tomb.

In culinary school we learn that if you cannot properly prepare an egg than you are useless in the kitchen. There are probably over fifty ways to cook an egg but the simplest is the hard boil, and with only 78 calories and 6g of protein it is probably one of the most popular preparations, and did we mention eggs are the most affordable protein available.

Sharing Angelica Bakeshop, Cebu – Themes of Sports and Toon

I definitely think the children will love these two especially the hyperactive ones and the girls. The theme of the first one is Sports.

Here we have a football on top of  a double layered cake in white and purple cover with a bouquet of roses in front and behind it. The birthday wishes is inscribed on it. 🙂


Next we have a popular toon character Frozen a snowman in a light blue covered rectangular cake with images of snow crystals that slowly fall to the ground all around the snowman, and of course the message for the celebrant not forgotten. 🙂

Cand vine vorba de paste n-as putea spune ca imi trezesc amintiri vii cu bunica sau orice fel de alta amintire din acea perioada. Pastele au intrat in fata mea sub forma de spaghte la cuptor cu branza si ou, reteta pe care o sa o impartasesc ceva mai tarziu. Reteta aceasta am gasit-o intamplator pe ambalajul unui produs alimentar si mi-am zis ca merita incercat. Pt ca este o reteta foarte usor de facut trebuia sa profit.

Incepem cu :

  • 400 gr pasta fusili
  • 300 gr prosciuto
  • 200 ml smantana lichida pt gatit
  • 150 gr unt
  • Condimente si un mic secret

Incepem prin a fierbe pastele. Intre timp punem untul la topit intr-o tigaie si taiem fasii prosciuto.

Adaugam prosciuto peste unt si il lasam putin sa se rumeneasca. Apoi adaugam smantana si le lasam pe foc 2 minute.

Yummy cupcakes from SierraLei


i had to make baby shower cupcakes for my co worker’s sister’s baby shower. i saw this picture and thought it was cute:

the color palette i was working with was blue, green, and yellow. this is what i ended up with:

my little man helped me out by punching out blue circles. he was pretty happy that he got to help. and happier that i actually used the blue circles. =)

i have a co worker, madeleine, who made me a peach cobbler for my birthday…so for her birthday, i wanted to make her cupcakes…i knew she was in a book club, so i did some research of books for decorations.

Gin and Tonic Sorbet

Gin and Tonic Sorbet

Gin and Tonic Sorbet


½ cup sugar

½ Water

1 large or 2 medium lemon or limes, zest and juice

2 ½ cups tonic water

3 fl.oz. shot gin. Vodka also works!

In a saucepan, make simple syrup by gently heating ½ cup water and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat and add the lemon or  lime zest and juice.

Combine the  gin and syrup then refrigerate. Also keep the tonic water icy cold in the refigerator add this to the gin syrup in the ice cream machine as you start to process.

Follow your machine’s directions to freeze the sorbet 30-45 mins. Transfer and store in an appropriate container and freeze to allow it to continue to firm.


Remove from the freezer 10 minutes before serving,

Serve in pretty little glasses garnished with more lemon or lime twists and/or rim the glass with lime sugar…
